Women’s Golf finishes strong at Big 12 Championship

WACO, Texas – Texas ended the 54-hole 2007 Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship with its finest round of the tournament Wednesday – despite playing with four golfers instead of five – as the Longhorns shot a 19-over 307, marking the sixth-lowest round of the three-day event.

The terrific round elevated Texas from 12th place after two rounds into 10th place in the final standings. The Longhorns shot a three-day score of 954 to finish in 10th at 90-over par. Read more.

Fish, Hoy lead Women’s Golf in round one at 2007 Big 12 Championship

WACO, Texas – University of Texas freshmen Shannon Fish and Arliss Hoy overcame breezy conditions Monday afternoon as each stroked a six-over 78 to lead the Longhorns in round one of the 2007 Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship at the par 72, 6,142-yard Ridgewood Country Club.

Texas sits in 11th place after shooting a 32-over 320 in the first of three rounds. Texas A&M leads the event at 12-over par, and Kansas’ Amanda Costner leads individually at one-under par. Read more.
